Ground Rules: Conduct at Flippinmental Meetings

Ground rules
Members of the group are expected to adhere to the following ground rules:
  1. Confidentiality - everything that is said in the group, stays in the group. Nothing from the group should be discussed outside the group.
  2. Don't judge others. The group is an environment where everyone is free to be themselves, without prejudice. Any racist, sexist, comments etc. will not be tolerated.
  3. Give everyone "space" to talk freely. Try not to dominate the group. Be aware that each group member has needs.
  4. Respect all group members and facilitators.
  5. No violence will be tolerated.
  6. No aggressive behaviour or abusive language will be tolerated.
  7. No shouting.
  8. Decisions will be made on a voluntary basis by the group.
  9. If you feel you need to challenge a group member, please ensure you do it constructively.
  10. Try to be "open-minded" with your views.
  11. Everyone to take responsibility for what happens in the group.
  12. Try not to interrupt people when sharing/talking. Good sharing takes time.
  13. Try only to discuss relevant issues to the group, within group time.
  14. No self-harming during group meetings.
  15. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated.
  16. We are not mental health workers we are ALL service users, ultimately, your own care and treatments lies with you and the professionals involved with your care.
