Ground rules Members of the group are expected to adhere to the following ground rules:
- Confidentiality - everything that is said in the group, stays in the group. Nothing from the group should be discussed outside the group.
- Don't judge others. The group is an environment where everyone is free to be themselves, without prejudice. Any racist, sexist, comments etc. will not be tolerated.
- Give everyone "space" to talk freely. Try not to dominate the group. Be aware that each group member has needs.
- Respect all group members and facilitators.
- No violence will be tolerated.
- No aggressive behaviour or abusive language will be tolerated.
- No shouting.
- Decisions will be made on a voluntary basis by the group.
- If you feel you need to challenge a group member, please ensure you do it constructively.
- Try to be "open-minded" with your views.
- Everyone to take responsibility for what happens in the group.
- Try not to interrupt people when sharing/talking. Good sharing takes time.
- Try only to discuss relevant issues to the group, within group time.
- No self-harming during group meetings.
- Sexual harassment will not be tolerated.
- We are not mental health workers we are ALL service users, ultimately, your own care and treatments lies with you and the professionals involved with your care.
